The Neighborhood:
Considered the most central suburb in Hobart, New Town is perfectly positioned to be conveniently located for travel to the world renowned museum MONA in the north and Bruny Island in the south. The apartment is within walking distance to the Hobart CBD and historic Salamanca and waterfront. There is an awesome Supermarket/grocer called Hill St Store only a few minutes’ walk away.
Getting Around:
Buses are the only form of public transport in Hobart. Taxis and Uber services are also readily available.
There are several bus stops just a few minutes walk from your apartment.
Bus Stop 10 - Ayrgyle St,
Bus Stop 12 Park St,
Bus Stop 12 Stoke St are several examples
These stops are on route to the Northern suburbs of Hobart so there are quite a few different buses that can be taken that will take you past one of these stops.
For example : Buses leaving the central bus mall in Elizabeth St in the city are as follows:

503 Tolosa St
512 Cadbury's Estate
These are just a few of the buses that can be caught depending on the time of day.

Weather - Hobart is a wonderful place to live and the locals often experience 4 seasons in one day. During winter our climate can get down to 0 Celsius at night and have maximum of 10 degrees or below during the day. In summer our temperatures can reach 37 degrees Celsius and our high UV ratings can be very hot. High UV readings are more important than temperature and lots of sunscreen, sunglasses and sunhats are required.
A brisk winter morning that is 2 degrees with crisp blue skies is very invigorating but warm clothes, hats,boots and gloves are needed to enjoy the freshness in the air.
To get maximum enjoyment from visiting our beautiful city, please be mindful of the season's weather during your stay and bring appropriate clothing to be comfortable.
* Water Australia is a dry continent and water is very precious. At times we may be subject to water restrictions. Hobart fortunately has a climate where we do not often have to worry about water consumption. Our water from the tap is some of the best in the world and can be drunk without any health concerns.
* Keeping warm at night. Electric blankets have been supplied for all beds. There is a switch next to each bed that enables you to warm up your bed to your preferred comfort level. The blankets can be left on whilst you sleep but most people find it sufficient to heat the bed so it is lovely warm to slide into at night. Bring warm pyjamas and socks and when snuggling under the duck down doonas ...a good night sleeps should be yours.
