This large 2 storeyed open plan house has fantastic views of Mahau Sound, Hikapu Reach and Pelorous. There is a private mooring and good off road parking for cars and boat trailer.
The large sundeck affords a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the view. There is a large lawn in front of the deck, and a short path leads down to the beach through native bush. A small dingy is available, together with two kayaks.
There is good road access from Linkwater, 10 minutes away, where there is a good country pub and a local store which sells fuel. We are also a short 20 minute drive from both the cafes and bars in Havelock and the famous Portage Hotel further into Kenepuru Sound.
The house is set in 2 acres of mature native bush with glow worms along the driveway at night. The nights are dead still, except for the sound of morepork owls calling across the Sound. The moon rises over the water. A claw foot bath on the deck can be filled from the hot tap to provide a wonderful warm bath under the stars!
There are 5 bedrooms. Two upstairs, including a master bedroom with a private ensuite and another room with a queen size bed and a single, and three more downstairs, including one with a queen size bed and great view through sliding doors across the sun deck. The other two have two single beds in each. There is a large bathroom downstairs with both a bath and a shower.
There is a table tennis table in the upstairs lounge, a half size pool table downstairs, and plenty of board games and books to read. There is a Freeview TV with Google Chromecast, a CD player, and a landline. Bring your own decoder to receive Sky TV over and above the Freeview options. The upstairs lounge gives the kids a place to call their own, with a separate VHS video player, a DVD player, and mini music system!
There is also an office area with a desk set up with good WiFi, a landline, and photocopier printer.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to leave the house clean and take away your rubbish. Please do the dishes before you leave, and remember to bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
