Our home sits on top of a mountain looking out across a natural reserve. There is a constant breeze that cools the home in every direction. There is nothing behind us but a river with a waterfall and lush jungle. Monkeys, toucans, huge iguanas, ant eaters, porcupines, hawks, and other animals and birds of every species visit us frequently. Specially when giving fruit and water. We live in a gated community with neighbors from Switzerland, United States, Canada, Italy and Costa Rica. The home is about 3,500+ square feet on 2 acres of fenced land. All bedrooms have walk-in closets with full bathroom and wonderful views in every room. The kitchen has a restaurant style commercial equipment with a gas oven, griddle, burners and grill. You can barbecue indoors! We have an outdoor gym with professional gym equipment.
The backyard with views of volcanoes and the most amazing breeze, is equipped with a table for ten and jacuzzi.
An outdoor portable fireplace, perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars.
Outdoor bed for two in the yard with seating area underneath and overlooking the valley and mountains, a beautiful place for the glass of wine and relaxing.
We can walk to the quaint coffee town of Atenas in 15 minutes. Known for having the best weather in the world, with it's year round 80f / 27c degree weather, Atenas was listed as one of the best places to retire in the world by AARP magazine. It is a very expat friendly town with many restaurants and activities. We are located in the mountains on the road from the San Jose airport to the Pacific coast. It's an easy drive of just 30 minutes to be on the coast driving over the Tarcoles bridge to see the crocodiles, and continue on to Punta Leona, Jaco beach, Manuel Antonio, and many more. From our house we can reach just about anywhere in the country and come back in the same day.
