Watauga Flats is a beautiful log cabin on the Watauga River in Valle Crucis with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. You will find custom wood features, skylights, and hardwood floors throughout. All of the bedrooms have classic upscale country decor. If a quaint riverside mountain cabin is what you are seeking, Watauga Flats delivers!
Located only a mile from the historic Mast General Store and Valle Crucis Riverfront Park, Watauga Flats is convenient and central to all the High Country offers. Boone is only 5 miles away, Banner Elk is about 9 miles away, and Blowing Rock is only 11 miles away. Snow skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating are nearby, with Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Appalachian Ski Mountain about 12 miles and Beech Mountain Ski Resort only 14 miles away. Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines park is 11 miles from the cabin. Grandfather Mountain is less than 15 miles away, and Tweetsie Railroad is only 10 miles from Watauga Flats.
The main level features an open floor plan with high vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. The cozy living room has a gas fireplace in the stacked stone wall, a flat-screen TV with paid programming, and skylights above that provide natural light. The banquet-style dining table seats up to 6 guests. The kitchen has gorgeous granite counters, high-end stainless appliances, and a large center island for preparing meals.
The main floor bedroom has a queen bed from which you can hear and see the nearby Watauga River. The main floor bathroom has a frameless glass-door tiled shower and a soaking tub. Upstairs, there are flanking bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. A full bathroom in the center has a step-in shower and services both upstairs bedrooms. Summary: This Watauga River cabin in Valle Crucis was the perfect accommodation for my daughter’s young family to enjoy a week in Valle Crucis. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen are also large and highly functional with new appliances. The hot tub overlooking the Watauga river was especially luxurious. The large exterior decks add to the living space making the entire cabin well suited for family gatherings. I would definitely rent this cabin again for my family.
