Fearna Cottage is a very spacious, single-storey cottage situated on a private estate in a stunning location right on the shores of Lochan Fearna. This detached cottage is located amidst the unbelievably picturesque landscape of North West Sutherland surrounded by lochs, hills and superb, pristine beaches. The living room has a warm, welcoming wood burner and patio doors that drink in the amazing views down the loch, which is just a few yards away. The kitchen/dining room is extremely well-equipped, with integral appliances and a large dining table for up to eight guests. There are four bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and there is a family-sized bathroom with bath and separate shower. This delightful cottage is superbly presented throughout, and provides a very good standard of accommodation in a truly magnificent and private setting. The owners run a small fishery and visitors are welcome to fish the numerous hill lochs for wild brown trout free of charge. There is also a stocked rainbow trout fishery which is available on a day ticket basis. There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding area. Deer roam the adjoining hills and feed close by, and otters, seals, porpoises and Minke whale are spotted along the shoreline. The area is a haven for birdlife. Golden eagles, buzzards, hawks and numerous small birds are seen in the locality. The nearby beach at Clashnessie is picture-postcard beautiful, with a horseshoe-shaped sandy bay bounded by open hillside. The pretty, thriving fishing port of Lochinver is just 10 miles away and is set around a natural harbour. Here there are a number of local shops, as well as restaurants, a pub and hotels serving food. There are numerous opportunities for outdoor pursuits, including sailing, canoeing, mountain biking, hill-walking and climbing. Beach 2 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 10 miles.
