The Stables at Howfordmill has an idyllic location just outside the village. Combining the appeal of rural quietness, and the lifestyle it comes with, and the convenience of shops and amenities within few minutes drive (7 miles). This former stable building has been completely renovated and restored by the owners and transformed into the perfect rural retreat for either a small family or group.
This two bedroom cottage provides a bright and open space for your day to day living, with French doors leading to a decking where you can dine outside and enjoy the open view over the surrounding fields. The kitchen provides everything you will need for preparing meals, be it a fun filled occasion, or perhaps someone is being treated to a romantic occasion. Come the evening, guests can either sit outside and enjoy the surroundings or chill out in front of a movie with your feet up. Should you wish to venture out for the evening, the local pub, under new management, has fantastic games nights, great food, live music and much more. Both bedrooms can be fitted to be either twin rooms or larger super kingsize. The bathroom has been finished to the same high standards as the rest of the cottage and has a shower over the bath. Outside, there are larger gardens where guests can enjoy a real taste of rural life but without being isolated; there’s a local pub serving food in the centre of Ettrickbridge for example. In the garden, guests can enjoy the scenery, the wildlife and even some horses in the distance. Fire up the BBQ and cook up some of the delights of local produce, one of the things that the Scottish Borders is famed for.
If your trip is more activity based, then you’ll be exceptionally unlucky not to find something to suit. From walking and cycling routes to days out in museums, country parks or even Kelso Races, there’s more than you think all within a few miles.
