The Treehouse is a unique pole house, nestled at the foot of Mount Kunyani (Mt Wellington), surrounded by nature reserves. The winding roads will take you up into what feels like remote bushland but is only 15 mins away from the bustle of Hobart city centre and 30 mins from the airport
It's beautiful architecture is courtesy of a family of French adventurers who built this home after sailing to Australia 50 years ago, and you can see echoes of the sea in the house and its surrounds. The middle level has a beautiful open plan kitchen with curving bench-tops and all of the comforts of home including a Nespresso coffee machine (updated since these photos) and dishwasher. Relax in the lounge looking out over fields and into the surrounding forests and see what you can spot! Pademelons, wallabies and echidnas inhabit the local area and in the evening, you'll be treated to the glint of the handful of homes twinkling in the distance, a rare sight indeed. Digital detox in the crow's nest on the upper level, with a good book or otherwise plan your Tassie adventures from the reference section in our home library. Missing modern life? No worries, we do still have Wifi and Smart TV :)
Our two bedrooms are on the lower level, in the winter we have underfloor heating but in the summer, the stone floor keeps it beautifully cool. We also have our spectacular bath tub (not spa!) which you can soak in after a day of activities!
