Summary: Parking was good as we arrived early so therefore were able to park FOC in front of the hotel. Also several pay carparks nearby. We were placed at the top of the house which was up several flights of stairs which I don't usually mind. However I nearly fell at one point coming down as the stairway had very narrow steep steps, dark decor and poor lighting so I missed a step! I understand that they cannot change the setup of the stairs, but it really needs to be better lit. The room was also extremely dark and could have done with a light on the table. The air conditioning seemed to have a mind of it's own and both nights turned itself off in the night (which is actually when I personally need it most) and could not be overridden. Decor was a little bit worse for wear with a few scratches. The toilet I noticed on the second morning had a leak in the drain pipe which was pooled up at the back near the wall. The things we did like were the friendly staff, an extremely comfortable bed and bedding, comfy pillows, a powerful shower, nice toiletries and fluffy towels. Also iron and ironing board and a safe if you needed it and good blackout curtains. Also lovely glasses to use if you wanted a drink in your room. We just felt for the price of £157.50 a night with no breakfast included, this was a bit steep considering the maintenance issues and the fact that the air conditioning system seemed to be on a timer so when the hotel wanted you to use it rather than when we needed to use.
