Swamphouse on the Peninsula is its own private sanctuary, rich in plant and bird life.From its humble beginnings as a 5 acre sheep paddock about 16 years ago, to now - the owners have worked hard building a holiday home that enjoys native planting, a small fruit tree orchard, and a small private lake. The lake is now home to a family of endangered pateke and wood pigeons, kaka and pukeko, adding to the charm of this unique adventure.
Swamphouse is a sanctuary from a busy life. Relax in the outdoor bath, light a fire and swim at the local beach at full tide. It is close to beautiful Tāwharanui for a surf or a nature walk and yet only 10 minutes to thriving Matakana.
Three bedrooms here comfortably sleep up to 12 guests, with a large bunk room enjoying access to the outdoors. A large shared driveway offers plenty of space to park the car, boat, and water toys up, so it's just a bonus that you're so close to the water's edge.
