This pretty, semi-detached, old stone cottage was once the village cobbler's house. Lovingly restored by its current owner, it has an attractive living room, with a feature electric wood burner, and a separate dining room, both of which are on the ground floor. The adjoining family bathroom is bright and contemporary, and the kitchen, which is accessed by a low doorway, is small but well equipped. The steep cottage stairs lead up to the first floor, which has the original low, combed ceilings throughout. The double and single bedrooms, both attractively presented, are at either end of the landing and have views across the garden to the sea beyond. The gardens immediately opposite the cottage are mainly laid to grass, and have mature roses and shrubs. Alongside the garden, a short path leads directly down to the beach.
Rosemary Cottage lies in the centre of this charming and unspoilt village, just a few minutes' stroll from the small harbour and the sandy beach. It has excellent facilities, all within easy reach, including a pub, a restaurant, a shop, a post office and a café. The coastline along these 'seaboard villages' is completely unspoilt and rarely busy. Dolphins, seals and porpoises are seen in the locality and a wide variety of sea birds can be spotted in the region. The area is justifiably popular with outdoor enthusiasts: cycling, hill walking, golf, fishing, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and surfing are all enjoyed locally. The nearby town of Tain, just 10 minutes' drive away, has an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs, as well as a wide variety of sporting and recreational facilities, including tennis courts, golf club and bowling club, all of which are available to visitors. It is also home to the renowned Highland malt whisky distillery Glenmorangie. Balintore is also ideally located for exploring the whole of the Highland region and the renowned North Coast 500 Route runs close by. Beach 80 yards. Shop 100 yards, pub 300 yards and restaurant 500 yards.
