Ribbonwoon Quarters is basic and rustic country accommodation. It consists of one main cottage and four cabins, in total it has 20 beds. It is suitable for individuals, families, small groups and large groups. For bookings over 5 guests please message or see Airbnb Link.
The main Quarters Cottage is two bedrooms with three single beds and a double bed. Open plan kitchen and lounge area with log burner plus bathroom, laundry and separate dining area.
There are also four cabins which in total have 15 single beds (including 4 sets of bunks) and a 1 double bed. Plus two separate showers, toilets and laundry.
In total there are three bathrooms, two washing machines, two ovens, two fridges and a medium chest freezer. We can supply a portacot, highchair and baby bath if required on request.
Linen and basics (bed linen, towels, tea towels, hand soap, dishwashing liquid and toilet paper) are supplied for the Quarters Cottage, for up to 5 guests (one double bed and three single beds).
Ahuriri Conservation Park is right next door. The park offers a range of walks, horse trekking, fishing, huts, and hunting, including the Te Araroa Trail. Within a 5-minute drive are the Clay Cliffs, Quailburn Historic Woolshed Site, Quailburn Bush Walk and Wairepo Kettleholes Track. Star. Gaze the the night sky from the Quarters, it can be spectacular.
Explore the nearby towns of Omarama and Twizel, Omarama Hot Tubs and High Country Salmon Farm, all within a 20-minute drive. Lake Ohau, Lake Benmore and Lake Ruataniwhai are within a half-hour drive for a swimming, fishing or boating.
Ribbonwood is a working farm with stock, machinery and dogs; there is no farm access without prior permission. There is the potential to have access to the 26km 4WD track on Ribbonwood which takes you out to back huts and the Ahuriri River. This adventure may interest horse trekkers, trampers and fly fishing enthusiasts. Please message to discuss above prior to making a booking.
Price is $100 per night for 2 people in the quarters cottage plus cleaning fee of $50 and additional guest numbers above 2 there is an extra $25 pp. When you make a booking it books out the entire complex.
