Welcome to Dunalley Bay Beach House, a unique retreat whose fence line is located right on the Tasmanian Devil proof fence, ensuring the safety of the uniquely cancer free Tasmanian Devil population of the Tasman Peninsula. Situated in the charming coastal town of Dunalley, our property offers a gateway to explore the wonders of the Forestier and Tasman Peninsula.
The house itself is modern, spacious, open and well-appointed, featuring 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and water views from almost every window. The family bathroom includes a jetted spa bath for relaxation after a full day of activities. In winter, the bathrooms heated floors add to the comfort of your stay along with reversed cycle heat pumps and air conditioners to cool you down in the summer. Whether you’re based inside or outside it’s impossible to avoid the breathtakingly beautiful sunsets over the beach every night and if you’re lucky you may even catch the Aurora if you’re here at the right time!
While on one side we have our private beach, on the other you’ll find our gorgeous resident sheep and alpacas. The kids will love hand feeding them through the fence almost as much as they’ll love the extra food!
Enjoy the convenience of nearby amenities such as the Dunalley Bakery, award winning Bangor winery, Dunalley Bay Gin Distillery, The Cannery Restaurant, Dunalley Hotel, and the iconic newly refurbished Dunalley Fish Market, all within reach (some even walking distance!). We also have a service station, post office, recreation oval, skate park and playground. Dunalley’s Denison Canal, dug by hand in the early 1900s and featuring one of Australia’s last manually operated electronic opening bridges, adds to the town’s allure. It was built to shorten the fishing and trade route between the east coast and Hobart, where originally boats had to make the journey down and around Port Arthur at the bottom of the Tasman Peninsula. Nowadays we enjoy waving at smaller fishing and recreation boats on the daily, plus the impressive racing yachts of the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race who take the shortcut on their way back up to the mainland after the event.

Guests have full access to the house and surrounding areas (except the shed). The property is only accessible via a locked electronic gate. The driveway is large enough to host your boat or caravan and multiple cars. While we encourage feeding the friendly sheep and alpacas through the fence with provided food, we kindly ask guests not to enter the paddock.

It’s important to note that there are no fences between our house and the beach, so please take this into consideration when planning your holiday here with the kids - they’ll need to be watched.
