Positive: Although the original booking info said the apartments spoke about 7 different languages, (including Vietnamese!) the couple there only spoke Greek. But that wasn't an issue as the couple Maria and her husband were so friendly it didn't matter that we didn't fully understand each other. She was so chatty and friendly. We got on great, shared gifts and were sad to leave, and both said we would love to retire here. Maybe one day.... The weather was around 30degC most days so this helped and we could sit outside and have a little drink/food in the morning and evening. You could see that the apartments were different sizes but the rooms were large and we managed on the two hob stove (no oven). It was helpful having a toilet downstairs as well as one upstairs. As it wasn't peak season, the area felt quiet, was in its own walled enclosure and always felt safe and relaxing. The pool was a nice dip in the evening after spending the day on the beach/in the sea at Stoupa. It was an ideal location, apartment nicely located short walk away from the front where much of the amenities were. If we could we would buy the place (but don't have the money 😞) There are an extraordinary amount of cats in Stoupa, but if you like cats then this might be a huge bonus. We like cats so was fine for us (my girlfriend was in her element!) and one of them chose us for the holiday sitting on the porch most morning and evenings when we were sitting out there.
Negative: They need to replace the bottle opener as it was broken and we did have need to use one! We forgot to remind them. We didn't like leaving. 1 week isn't enough to soak up what is on offer in Stoupa and the surrounding areas. It is a treasure of a place and the people there are lovely.
