This stunning beach house is unique in terms of position and amenities. Built in the 1950's, it has been extensively renovated over the years, however still retains its iconic 'Kiwi Bach' vibe.
With two living spaces, huge decks, flat lawns and the sea almost at the doorstep, there is everything here for a truly memorable family holiday. The playroom is equipped with beanbags, TV and toys, a place for the children to hang out and make a mess. Just shut the door and leave them to it!
The house is well equipped with Sky TV, Wifi, Stereo system, BBQ, Nespresso machine ( bring your own capsules), bread-maker, and a family selection of DVD's, books and board-games.
Outdoor dining furnitures, sun loungers, beanbags, a dingy and 2 kids & 1 adult
kayaks ensure there is something for everyone.
The bedrooms all have linen and towels provided and are ready for you to walk in and enjoy.
The beach and water is totally safe for children; access is direct from the lawn, with no roads or dunes to cross. There is enough sand to make the biggest sand castle or dig the deepest hole. And there is a climbing tree and treehouse for when the children have had enough of the water.
If you enjoy a bit of kiwi back-yard cricket, then there is ample space on the large flat lawn to have a good bash. Or bring your croquet set and play to your own house rules!
From the huge sun umbrella, under which the outdoor table seats 12, to the freshwater outdoor shower, the amenities provided will leave you thinking that you may never leave!
At night, the outdoor fire provides a wonderful ambience; sit out under the stars and marvel at the Milky Way.
Totara Lodge is superbly situated as a base for exploring the wider Bay of Islands. Fishing diving, surfing, picnicking are all on your doorstep. Watch the Dolphins, play golf at Waitangi, explore the kauri forest, or indulge in wine- tasting at nearby vineyards.
Or just relax in the sun on a lounger!
Russell with it's history, shopping, cafes and restaurants is 20 minutes away by either boat or car.
This is a much loved forth-generation family holiday home; we hope you will love it too.

Rates are inclusive for 6 adult guests. Extra guests $50.00 per head per night.
Large parties are not allowed, however our property is suitable for small weddings ( we have had 5 so far!) or intimate celebrations and we are happy to consider this on a case by case basis. An extra fee may apply. Please discuss with us.
