The local area has many places worthy of a visit including Glenluce Abbey, Logan Botanic Gardens, Mull of Galloway Lighthouse and Dunskey Gardens with its famous maze, Bladnoch Distillery should also not be missed.

The forest is also superb for bird and wildlife watching, walking and of course Mountain Biking on the Forestry Commission's 7 Stanes trails. There are numerous opportunities in the locality for hill walking and other outdoor activities including fishing and horse riding.
