Launceston is a beautiful city blending both city and country charms, with heritage streetscapes, a slice of urban wilderness and gourmet food and drink available at every turn. We aren’t just biased, many agree, with Launceston named Australia’s best town to visit in 2022!
Nestled amongst these iconic buildings, you will find many delicious cafés and restaurants, an array of shops and boutiques, a vast range of cocktail bars and pubs and many amenities and recreational spaces.
Launceston has many things to see and do including the vibrant Harvest Market every Saturday morning, the Princess Theatre, hosting local, interstate, and international performances, the Star Theatre for a cosy, cinematic experience, and many pubs and venues that host amazing live, musical talents.
Often referred to as the 'Lygon’ Street of Launceston, you will find some of Launceston’s most popular eateries and amenities on the illustrious Charles Street. George St is also known as ‘Eat Street’ with a range of restaurants, bars, gin houses and cafes to cater for most tastes.
The Cataract Gorge is just minutes away, a spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
The City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys. Nearby, you will find Penny Royal World. This attraction provides you and the family with a fabulous day out, with boat rides, rock climbing, rope courses, and more found here. For the adults, Penny Royal also provides a beautiful atmosphere where you can enjoy a wine or coffee.
An additional area to note is the Seaport Precinct. Here you will find some of Launceston’s most beloved restaurants and bars scattered along the edges of the Tamar River. Restaurants to note are Mud Restaurant and Bar, the Levee Food Co. and Spice. Across the bridge you will find the Riverbend Park for all day play entertainment, the Boathouse Café and Silo Hotel.

FREE TIGER BUS: The bus travels around the city. There are bus stops located nearby outside Princes Square Park and the Launceston General Hospital. ELECTRIC SCOOTERS: You will find purple electric scooters scattered around Launceston. To access these, please download the App ‘Beam’. Please wear the helmet provided and be safe!

Please note that there is a small exterior staircase that guests are required to climb to access the property. Additionally, there is a couple of interior stairs within the home.
There is free, off-street driveway parking at the property. Please note that this is pebbled, and could prove to be quite tight for larger vehicles.
Please note that the fireplace in the photo, the outdoor fire pit and the smoker are not available for use. (This should not be an issue given the property is not available for short stay accommodation during the winter season).
The apartment sits underneath the main home. There is a locked door that leads to this area. This area is not for guest use.
