Discover the open-plan living room, wonderfully refurbished with a bright and airy feel, a well-equipped kitchen complete with wooden units and heated ceramic flooring, as well as an island where you can prepare meals, which also acts as a breakfast bar, where you can sit together to enjoy home-cooked meals. After dinner, move into the sitting room to relax on the Italian leather sofas and enjoy a movie night on the Smart TV with DVD Player and to make the room feel even cosier, fire up the wood-burning stove with logs thoughtfully provided free of charge. Explore the parkland and woodland of the Galloway Forest Park, where you can enjoy scenic hiking and cycling trails, fishing and you may even see deer roaming, while the rolling countryside of the Machars also offers wonderful and scenic walking opportunities. Head to the former royal burgh of Wigtown, Scotland's national book town, home to an annual book festival, as well as a golf club, castle and Wigtown Bird Hide nature reserve, while the coast at Castle Douglas and the sandy beach of Dalavan are closest to the cottage, around a 15-mile drive away.
