Absolute Beachside! Welcome to Opossum Bay. A quaint and peaceful seaside village, just 40 minutes from Hobart. Escape to paradise and enjoy the sound of the waves lapping on the beach. Watch the kids from the deck as they paddle in the water right in your line of sight.
Stroll along the beach and take in the street scape of quirky abodes dotted along the main esplanade. Relax and enjoy our recently renovated beach house.
The space
The beach house has 2 bedrooms on the upper level, both with built in robes.
The main living space looks out over the beach with breathtaking 180 degree uninterrupted views. It features an open plan kitchen/living area, a large deck overlooking the beach and a second deck also with water views.
The living area leads out onto the deck to make the most of indoor/outdoor living and there is direct access to the beach from the deck.

Freshly painted and boasting gorgeous original tas oak polished boards. Brand new water tanks ensure that your family are drinking clean water straight from the tap.
The deck has been updated with quality modwood decking and glass balustrade to create the seamless feel of being on top of the water.
The concrete boat shed roof is a lovely second deck area.
The kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable, self contained stay. Original cupboards have been painted white to freshen it up and the original 70’s orange laminex gives a nice colour pop!
Bathroom - This space is by all accounts quite dated and tired. It’s on our to-do list to give it an overhaul, though it might be old, it will be clean! Anyway, who spends heaps of time in the bathroom?!! You’re here for the beach and the serenity! So far we have removed the wallpaper….though the shower, toilet and washing machine are all perfectly usable.
Enjoy cooking up a storm with local Tasmanian produce from the Hill Street Grocer, which is conveniently located in Lauderdale - a short 15 minute drive away. The local shop is a few minutes walk from the house, where you can get basic supplies, petrol, and the all important takeaway fish and chips!
Reverse cycle heating/cooling will keep you comfortable all year round.

Guest access
Guests will be able to use the entire home. There are two parking spaces available parallel with the roadside fence. There is a bus service to transport you to the city and return, please check the timetable to see if it will meet your requirements.
There is a public playground nearby, with BBQ facilities available, along with public toilets. This space is within 150m of the accommodation.
Other things to note
There isn’t WIFI available, so you will need to make do with data from your phone.
