Summary: Been going to Dundee Apex for many years, and it is a handy hotel for a night away for tired parents in need of time away from the chaos of balancing kids home and work. The main reason why we stay at this place is the swimming pool and sauna. We stayed in the middle of April but it was very busy - it was almost impossible to swim without bumping into people. This was after waiting for 30 min till the space became available, but it seems that a few people just ignored the queue and walked in (not that it was the staff’s fault but perhaps needs tighter management). The pool, the general look of the place suggests that it is perhaps time for a refurbishment and it is looking rather tired in places. The water was very white and cloudy and it was really had to see where I was going while swimming. As I sat in the sauna, I found it hard to bear the foul language from people who jumped the queue (from what I overheard they were members for the leisure facility). Every second word was a swear word. It wasn’t exactly a relaxing time that I hoped for. The bar seems under staffed and it was very hard to get someone to come and get an order for a very long time and as for settling the bill, I ended up walking into the restaurant area that was now being tidied up to get someone. The refreshment drink near the reception wasn’t replenished so nothing in the dispenser… it just felt like the management gave up trying. It is such a shame.
