2 Bedroom House in Ohakune
A very warm cosy, but roomy, chalet sleeping 5 comfortably (7 max), suitable for families or couples looking for a great all year round base from which to explore all that Mt Ruapehu, the Central Plateau and Whanganui River have to offer .
Within an easy walk of the Ohakune town centre, Ski/cycle shops, and even the "Vertigo" rock climbing wall! A park and childrens play area is also located 50m around the corner. The drive way leads directly onto the mountain road for the 20 minute drive to Turoa ski area.
The Chalet has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area which opens out through the ranch slider onto the deck to enjoy the great view of Mt Ruapehu. New Heat pump warms the whole place up very quickly. A carport provides cover at the back door keeping you dry when unloading your vehicle.
Upstairs opens into a bedroom with 3 single beds, and a separate bedroom with double bed (incl. electric blanket) . There is also a fold out sofa bed in the lounge but no extra bedding provided for this. We find the water heater provides adequately for 5 but if you want to sleep up to 7 some patience may be required.
A large airing cupboard is available for hanging damp ski / hiking clothing, with storage space in laundry area for skis and boots.
As well as being close to the Turoa ski area, Alpine Abode is close to the pleasant Mangwhero river walk and the adjoining Old Coach Road walk/cycle way. Alternately take a short trip to experience the activities (Jet boating, Kayaking/Canoeing, Tramping, Trout fishing) on offer in the Whanganui River National Park or some of the amazing walks, tramps, cycle trails and volcanic mountain scenery in the surrounding Tongariro National Park enviroment.

Mardi Gra Weekend minimum 3 night booking, for up to 5 guests (extra guests $50 each per night).
No smoking or pets allowed inside.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition guests are expected to leave the chalet clean & tidy including do the dishes before you leave. There is a cleaning/ linen fee of $60 for your stay, if not left in satisfactory condition an appropriate extra cleaning charge will apply & be deducted from bond/damage deposit.
Bed sheets & pillow slips will be provided for the beds. Towels are NOT provided
