Milnfield Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in private gardens on the banks of the River Annan. This lovely little cottage is the perfect country retreat offering peace and tranquillity, yet a beautiful riverside walk takes you into the centre of town. Milnfield Cottage offers lovely accommodation from the cosy living room with large wood burner through to the bright and sunny kitchen/dining room with patio doors opening onto the garden. The bedrooms are delightfully decorated and boast comfortable beds and bedding.
Outside really is a joy with its large lawned garden backing onto the banks of the River Annan. Whilst set in peaceful countryside, you can take a leisurely walk into town where you can enjoy a range of small shops, restaurants, and pubs, or even take in a film at the local cinema. This delightful area has plenty for all ages including beaches and cliff top walks, golf courses, fishing, many historic sites and castles, and lovely little towns and villages to visit.
Just 3 miles along the coast is Powfoot, a beautiful beach, the village itself was created in the 1790’s as a sea-bathing resort. Set just above the beach, it has an excellent golf course, one of several along this coastline. The annual spectacle of ’Annan Riding of the Marches’, a cavalcade of more than a hundred horses riding through the streets of the town, is held in July, or why not discover Annandale Distillery and enjoy a fine single malt whisky.
